The Amalfi coastline abounds in the beauty and life of those living in antiquity. No other place more than Naples, Italy is this a reality. Time worn facades open up into lush courtyards and the lives of those living in buildings serveral centuries old.
This image was photographed onto Fugi 100 ASA Velvia film. My process invloves creating a "photographic etching" onto film that I will convert into a digital file or "printing plate" to be read for make a giclee digital print with archival long-lasting inks.
Each print includes a Certificate of Authenticity describing the type of print and my original process of making each print.
There are two types of prints that I do for most color images. For a floating look when framing the print under glass I make a print onto photo rag paper with torn deckled edges.
A picture that is hard to believe that it is not a painting are my prints on canvas that I embellish the lines and texture with clear acrylic brush strokes. A truly beautiful piece that is original and comes alive with just a simple frame. Glass is not needed since the print is finished with a UV blocking varnish.
